Recommissioned in the year 2393, the USS Nimoy set out on a mission of diplomatic welfare throughout Federation space. The versatility of a refitted Constitution-class vessel allows the Nimoy and her crew, led by Lieutenant Commander Valiyi Uhin, utilizing tools within the Federation schools of thought to resolve conflicts and set the table for discussions and compromise.

As part of Obsidian Fleet and Task Force 47, this simulation's goal is to explore the vast expanses of the Star Trek universe through the lens of negotiator. The hope is that with the tools offered by the Diplomatic Corps of Starfleet, a thorough analysis of the varying cultures in and out of the Federation will be accomplished.

While her goal is narrow, the Command Staff endeavors to allow for versatility in missions, giving those not clad in diplomacy purple a chance to shine. Teamwork and collaboration is vital for the crew of the Nimoy, and we'd love to have you aboard!

» Mission Close and Recruitment!

Posted on Sat Oct 22nd, 2016 @ 5:56pm by Commander Valiyi Uhin in General News

Hey guys!

As our mission comes to a close (it seems like a mess now, but it won't take long), I'd like for us to have our posts wrapped up by the 7th of November. This mission has been great, but I may have made it go on a little too long... oops!

And, as we're readying for our next event (our lovely side-mission), I'd like to ask for an all call in recruiting. I'm not asking for you all to go out and find a place to post the Nimoy's ad or anything like that (that's a job for the Command Staff), but if you've got a friend or two who like simming and need a place to call home, please refer them to the Nimoy!

That is all. Expect another, longer announcement out of me soon!

» Almost Time... for Namesake

Posted on Mon Oct 10th, 2016 @ 6:18am by Commander Valiyi Uhin in General News

Thank you guys so much for being patient. I had a medical issue followed closely behind by Hurricane Matthew to deal with, so I was delayed much longer than I thought I would be. I do hope everyone who was caught up in that made it out alright!

I do also have one more round of awards! Well, one singular award, the Obsidian Fleet Service Citation, awarded to Valiyi Uhin, Jita Kejal, Liarra Redoran, Vriaral Dariars, Natasha O'Neil, and Wyndsor Emerson. As this is the first round of the citation, I would like to point out that the simulation has run for a total of six months! That's a long time in simm time, from my understanding, and I'm happy and proud to write with all of you! Here's to our next six!

As stated previously, I do intend to drive the mission to completion by the end of October. We should finish most of the mission posts by the 31rst, with most if not all plot points tied up nicely. Within the week, I should have posts rolled out with people that will progress toward an endgame on the mission. If you need to reference any of the posts within the mission, I have added a second sheet to the Timeline document (accessed by clicking down on the bottom left, a la a normal excel sheet), where you can find a full list of currently published joint posts for the mission, listed by Mission Day and Time. If there's trouble accessing it, let me know and I'll help you out (or fix what went wrong).

That being said! Our next 'mission' is a sub-mission, called Namesake, where the crew uncovers records of a long-forgotten mission that takes place before the Nimoy was known as the Nimoy. While I intend for this to be a low-intensity project for those who want to help develop more of the lore behind the ship, I will need some assistance in constructing members of the crew and the mission that it entails. If you're interested in helping out, please send me a PM!

The details of the subject matter involved in the mission are forthcoming, and the sub-mission will come with a timeline as normal. Within the next few weeks, I'll release more and more information as we close out on 123 and open up on Namesake.

Let's keep these posts rolling guys!

» Slight delays

Posted on Thu Oct 6th, 2016 @ 4:13pm by Commander Valiyi Uhin in General News

Hey gang! I just want to let you all know I am going to be a little absent over the next few days. I should be back to 100% by Sunday, where I'll announce some good goings on (more awards for one,) but until then I have a thing or two to take care of.

New posts and such will be delayed on my end. I apologize for the hold up.

» Bye September, Hello October!

Posted on Sat Oct 1st, 2016 @ 12:36am by Commander Valiyi Uhin in General News

With our month coming to a close, I have a few brief (but knowing me, not so brief) announcements:

Our resident Megas-Tu, Jack, has been removed from the simulation. If anyone has posts with Jack, please truncate and post them, or delete them. I'll be writing him off ICly shortly (and honorably, really). Security measures will be enforced by NPC until we can find ourselves another security member.

As the month comes to a close, I'd like to announce the promotion of Becca as Executive Officer! When the mission closes out, Vriaral will be promoted to Lieutenant to anticipate an In-Character promotion. The move will not be officially shifted until Mission Two, but Becca will act as Executive Officer in an Out of Character capacity until then.

Which brings me to the next point: I have plans to end the mission! (thank god, right?) It should close by the end of next month. It seems to be going slow at the moment, but once I can sit the hell down, things will speed up.

One final point to the news today, and that is what the next course of action you all would like to take is in regards to missions. As November and December tend to be low-post months (high holidays, high stress, low time), I was planning a 'between-the-missions' sub-mission, but as this is the Nimoy's first mission, a shore leave didn't seem right. That being said, if we did a 'between-the-missions' sub-mission, I'm almost at a loss for what to do. We could have a cultural kumbaya-type celebration, or we could have a tribble hunt! If anyone has a rousing idea, or a thought as to otherwise, or if we should just jump into mission two from mission one, let me know! I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback, guys!

PS: We got appraisal from the TFCO, and a job well done for this past month! Thank you for making the Nimoy a delight not just in storyline and posting, but on the back end too!

» End of Month Reminder

Posted on Sat Sep 24th, 2016 @ 4:45am by Commander Valiyi Uhin in General News

Heads up!

The end of the month officially ends on Friday, September 30th. At that time, I'll be making other announcements, but it also means that I'll be evaluating activity levels via the monthly post minimum (because that's really how I do that). If you wish to not be badgered by me, please make sure you have two completed, posted posts for the month of September, whether they be personal logs or otherwise.

As a side note, those waiting on responses from me will receive them soon. The week has been a mite busier than I expected it to be.

Good luck gang!
